Today in Garden Club, we made another new compost pile using the scraps we've gathered from the compost bins around the school. We also harvested spinach, basil, cabbage, and onions from our garden and made some delicious pasta salad and egg rolls to eat. Finally, he finished our newsletter this week. You can read here, or by signing up for it in the box to the right of the page. It was a great meeting. Thanks to everyone who came. See you next week!

Hey guys, and welcome back to Garden Club! Today, we made a new batch of worm compost tea from the vermicastings in our worm bin. The brew was ready the next day and we used it to inoculate the new plants in the front entrance with good aerobic bactria and fungi. We also took the big artful COMPOST sign designed by Tamara and mounted it to the back fence near our compost piles. Everyone seems to be busy this time of the year, so we appreciate all your efforts. Thanks for coming, and we'll see you next week.
Hello everybody and welcome back to Garden Club. Unfortunately, today was a rainy day so we couldn't work outdoors. However, we still made great use of our time despite the rain. We gathered with some laptops today and began working on our monthly newsletter. It was a really fun time sitting down and working together. Expect a newsletter in your e-mail inboxes soon. If you haven't signed up yet for a newsletter yet, make sure to sign up now to stay updated with everything Garden Club is doing. Thanks everybody for coming today, and we hope to see you all again next week. Stay warm!
Hey everyone and welcome to another post brought to you by the Gateway Garden Club. Today, we made our second batch of compost for our new garden. If you missed our post from last week, we are now gathering scraps from our school's cafeteria and weeds from our old garden as compost for our new garden. We also watered the old garden and fixed up the irrigation system in the school's front garden. Meanwhile, we had another group of people planting some new plants in the old garden to keep the school looking good while we work on the new garden. Thanks everyone for coming today, and we hope to see you next week. |
