Sunday, June 7- We harvested even more cover crop seeds from our early spring cover crop planting! Then we chopped and dropped said cover crops and placed lush mulch a top. This is urban soil building at its finest, ladies and gentleman! We fertilized our citrus trees with some delicious organic fertilizer. We even laid a few more drip lines bringing us that much closer to the entire garden being consistently water!
Monday, June 1- Our first day of summer! Most of us were able to meet for a few hours to brain storm! We solidified an outline for our summer goals and later reminisced on all the work and great times we've had during the past school year. We also worked on better understanding our new drip irrigation system's timer setup :)

Our last week of school, and our last Garden Club meeting! We would have loved to have a celebration and cook up some food from our garden, but we had too much work to do! We needed to finish the drip irrigation, and set up the timers to automatically water our plants this summer. We also determined which students and volunteers will be able to visit the garden this summer. It looks like we'll have a lot of humans available to give the plants and our garden space the attention they deserve! Cheers to an awesome year!
Only two weeks of school left and we're trying to get our drip irrigation system fully installed for automated watering over the summer. We worked extra hard this week to learn how to install drip irrigation, which turned out to be a lot of fun! Now that we know how to do it, it's just a matter of dividing up the work and finishing the task!
